“I thought it would be easier to change wine than life”

It started with a ritual
Future Château was born out of the Covid pandemic. When the world felt like it was ending, I started drinking wine every day. And when the world stopped ending, I stopped with it. Because who did I think I was? Drinking wine every day…
But then I missed it so badly.
An open bottle of wine is a magical thing. It transforms an evening, a long lunch, a sunny afternoon. Life these days doesn't always suit conventional wine, so I started wondering whether it would be easier to change wine than to change life.
A six-year obsession.
That idea turned into a six-year search across vineyards in Kent, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Stellenbosch, experimenting with different techniques, varietals, soils and styles in pursuit of naturally lighter wine with proper flavour and texture intact.
Eventually, the search led to Northern Victoria, Australia, where the dramatic climate creates the perfect conditions for producing naturally lighter wine.
Ironically, for a brand born in London, the perfect place to make our wine turned out to be almost the furthest place away.
